Voraussetzungen Some background in algebra, combinatorics and/or optimization is helpful but not strictly necessary.
Beschreibung This seminar is a first in a series of seminars entitled "Advanced Topics in Discrete Mathematics". The intention is to cover a broad variety of topics, thereby reflecting the activities of various research groups in Discrete Mathematics at ETH.

This term we want to focus on polytopes as central objects in convexity theory, discrete geometry, as well as in optimization. We will work through a variety of sources, both text books and research papers, with the goal to expose a multi-facetted picture of polytope theory.
